Hi friends, welcome to my little corner of the internet where I offer interior design services, provide tips on all things design + DIY, and share our journey of making our house a home. My hope is to inspire you to start creating a home you love!
I’m a designer + DIY enthusiast living in Toronto, Ontario with my husband, Nelson, and our two Texas rescue pups, Leo + Willow. I love all things design, art, + home and you’ll never see me without my 32oz Takeya water bottle. I believe that we should all have a home that reflects our personality, a home that makes us feel happy + relaxed, a home that feels like home, and this is why I love helping others create their dream home + why I have decided to pour my heart + soul into making our house a home ♡.
I’ve focused on designing and creating for others for many years now, so I am excited to finally make the most of our own home. Follow along as Nelson and I create a home we love one space at a time. I like to think we make a pretty good team...except when he doesn’t listen lol. I’m the visualizer, the creative one, the mind behind the design, and he is the thinker, the builder, the brains behind the tools, and with our strong mindedness there’s nothing we can’t figure out. I will be documenting our progress on the blog and will fill you in on all the honest truths about our home projects and show you how you can transform your home with no design experience.
Background

I first went to school for Interior Decorating, where I received my diploma. It was during this program that I became more interested in interior design and so I continued my education and obtained a Bachelor of Interior Design. Throughout my school years and upon graduating, I worked in different sectors of the design industry and eventually, with a partner, moved on to open our very own interior design studio. During this venture I learned so much and I had amazing time working with clients to design their dream homes. Although I poured my heart into this company and loved what I did, I still found myself searching for something else. I am a long time creative and have always had a passion for anything crafts + DIY and so I decided to pair this with my interior design background and create The Design Nook.
